Huge Flag Provides Background

A huge illuminated flag on the Whiting Memorial Boat house formed the patriotic background for the aquatic spectacle. The boat house was trimmed with colored lights. Neenah firemen, using four water hoses, created an artificial waterfall in the front of the boathouse. Lines of colored water played among the waterfall.

Chief of Police Irving H. Stilp who was in charge of parade arrangements, crowned the Venetian queen at 7 p.m in Whiting boat house. She was given a crown of red, white and blue flowers with the compliments of a local greenhouse The queen was given a silver bowl with her name inscribed, and members of her court were given smaller bowls.
