City Celebration Attracts Large Crowd at Park A real old -fashioned Fourth of July celebration, complete with open air acts and a band parade climaxed by boat races in the afternoon and fireworks at night, with plenty of hot dogs and lots of sunburned back, was attended by about 2,000 persons Monday afternoon and evening at Riverside park…. Shortly after the start of the races, about 50 children entered a parade, sponsored by the recreation department, at the north end of the park. Bicycle, tricycle, doll buggies and coaster wagons, decorated with bunting and signs, competed for prizes in each class. Following the parade, novelty races and games kept the youngsters occupied until about 3:30 o’clock, when free tickets and prizes were distributed.
