                               Anthropology Club Constitution

Mission Statement:

The Anthropology Club's goal is to enhance the college experience of all UW-Oshkosh students, along with members of the community. Its objectives are to provide people with an anthropological, multicultural view of the world; enhance and develop student's communication and leadership skills; promote professor-student relationships; and provide out of classroom experiences.

I. Election of Officers

The election of officers will take place in April, after the Allocation meeting so that old members are required to see funding through the next academic year. Positions will be reached by a majority vote and each officer will be limited to two academic year terms for their position.

II. Duties of Officers

A. President - The duties of the president will include: presiding over club meetings, appointing committee chairs, overseeing general club procedure, and representing the club on campus and in the community.
B. Vice President - The duties of the vice president include: assisting the president with their duties, presiding over the positions of other board members in the event of an absence, and replacing the president due to disqualification or resignation.
C. Secretary - The secretary will work with officers in club procedures, record minutes of club meetings, and general club correspondence. They will also take attendance at club activities and meetings.
D. Treasurer - The treasurer will allocate funds, collect dues, distribute monies, and keep count of all financial activities and meetings.
E. OSA Assembly Representative - The OSA representative will attend OSA meetings to help maintain touch points with the rest of the campus. They will also attend allocations meetings and they must find a replacement for themselves if they are unable to attend. Representatives cannot be graduating students.
F. The impeachment process for dismissing officers will be reached by two-thirds majority vote of all official club members when the impeachment issue is present.

III. Membership Requirements

A. Membership in the Anthropology Club is open to all students and community members alike, who pay the required membership dues. Payment of membership dues, in an amount to be determined by the current executive board, is necessary to be considered an official club member. Financial backing is limited to currently enrolled UWO students only. Also, an interest in anthropology and in participating in club activities is preferred, but not required.
B. Only members who actively participate in club events will receive full benefits associated with the club. These full benefits include: voting privileges and a reimbursement system. This system will provide members with monetary amounts to be used towards club-funded activities as a result of their participation. Reimbursement values for events will be decided on by the executive board on an annual basis.
C. Anthropology club meetings will be open to all who wish to attend and the times and places of these will be made available when they are known.
D. All members are responsible to fulfill commitments made to the club in the form of officer duties or in activities. Failure to fulfill obligations will result on disciplinary actions, decided on by the board, which may include financial reimbursement of club funds.

IV. Disciplinary Procedures

Respect for other members is required. If members are unreasonable, they will be asked to leave the meeting or event.

V. Means to Amend the Constitution

Possible amendments to the constitution will be given to the officers or the advisor and be brought up before the membership at the next meeting. A majority vote is required to amend the constitution
