1980

  • William Nordstrom (LS) has owned William Nordstrom Jewelers in Menomonee Falls since 1996. He is the Menomonee Falls Community Chamber president and the event chairman for the Big Pig Gig, a Kansas City barbecue competition and music festival. (5-1-08)

1981

  • Doug Waterman (LS), LS ’83, of Appleton was presented with the Wisconsin Technical College System- Outstanding Service Award in Information Technology in March. (5-1-08)

1982

  • Thomas Rettler (B) of Mequon was hired as a senor vice president and chief financial officer for Menasha Corp. (5-1-08)

1983

  • Rodale Bochte (LS) is the owner of a recently purchased motel and resort in Hiles. The Little Pine Motel and Resort has 12 motel-type rooms on 10 acres with much to do. (5-1-08)
  • Judy Markee (LS) anchors the 5, 5:30, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts of WWMT in Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo Michigan. (5-1-08)
  • Chris Novak (LS) has worked for Federal Express for more than 23 years. Novak, who spent the past 17 years in corporate training, supporting aircraft operations and regulatory training issues, now serves at the Indianapolis national hub, which supports the central United States and parts of eastern Canada. 1984

  • Franklin Cumberbatch (B), a Boca Grande Capital partner, said the Milwaukee-based investment group was finalizing two projects in Ripon. (5-1-08)
  • Daniel Steinert (LS) presented at the Organ Dedication Concert of the Rodgers Grand Organ at All Saints Church on April 19. (6-1-08)

1985

  • Lisa (Hochtritt) Gaylor (LS) was named art education chair at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Denver, Colo. (5-1-08)
  • Joy Smith (LS) received an enthusiastic review for her children’s book Why Won’t Anyone Play with Me? in the December 2007 issue of Children’s Bookwatch. Smith’s short story Paulie is in the December 2007 issue of Art and Prose. (5-1-08)
  • Lockwood Wurtz (LS) accepted the boys’ basketball coaching position at Kimberly High School, where he will also be a science teacher. (5-1-08)

1988

  • Kim (Davies) Resheski-Wedepohl (LS) of Reedsville has joined Thrivent Financial for Lutherans as a financial representative. (6-1-08)
  • David Sakrison (MPA) published the book Chasing the Ghost Birds, which chronicles efforts to return trumpeter swans to the Midwest and whooping cranes to the eastern U.S., and to save the last of Russia’s Siberian cranes. (5-1-08)
  • Stacey (Bradley) Timm (B) of Green Bay joined Unity as director of finance. (6-1-08)

1989

  • Sharon (Baker) Bucklin (LS) and husband, ’90 Scott Bucklin (B), adopted Evan Nikita Bucklin from Yaroslavl, Russia, in March. He joins sisters Susanna, Laine and Kate. (5-1-08)
  • Diane (Boerschinger) Galow '89 (LS) and '95 (MSE) is elementary education director for the Neenah Joint School District. (5-1-08)
