Saying sayonara to spring breaks
What is the hardest thing about being on spring break?
Knowing that I have free time and figuring out what to do with it. I’m one of those “busy bee” type people if you will – meaning it’s hard for me to relax without thinking about what I have to do next.
And if I don’t have pressing things that need to be done, I tend to procrastinate.
So what do I have to do next? Mon. March 29 I have an interview with the class speaker committee. I’ll be asked some questions and then have to give my speech.
I’ve been practicing and I think I’m almost ready to finally let someone hear it. It has helped to record everything and hear how it flows together.
I recently spent some time updating my electronic portfolio at http://shanearman.weebly.com to specifically appeal to employers who are interested in learning more about me. Check it out and let me know what you think – I welcome all feedback.
I need to write my cover letter to apply for the marketing specialist position at Summerfest, a dream job of sorts for me right out of college. A real dream job of mine is the vice president of sales and marketing for Summerfest, but I understand that type of position takes a great deal of time, hard work and experience.
I’ll hopefully be moving forward with my honors thesis project. Right now I’m working on a survey that will be sent to current student leaders, alumni who were leaders in their time at UW Oshkosh and the general student population.
The survey will focus on understanding more about different groups of people to increase and retain membership in student organizations at UW Oshkosh.
Once class starts back up, I’ll be traveling to Milwaukee a few times. April 6 I’ll be going to the Brewer game with Reeve Union Board and April 8 I’ll be going to the PR + Social Media Summit at Marquette University.
53 days.
