Robert Fale, 1979
Fale is president and chief executive officer of Agnesian HealthCare, Inc., a fully integrated healthcare delivery system serving Fond du Lac, Winnebago, Dodge, Green Lake and Waushara counties. He began his career as a respiratory therapy technician and registered nurse and enlisted in the Army in 1972. After military service ended, he earned a BSN at UW Oshkosh and after six months as a registered nurse, decided to become a hospital administrator.
He earned a master’s degree in health administration from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. Prior to his current position at Agnesian HealthCare, he was president and CEO of facilities sponsored by Catholic Health Initiatives. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Health and Hospital Association where he is involved in state and national healthcare advocacy efforts.
Ray Van Garsse, 1983
Garsse earned a master's degree in special education from UW Oshkosh and master's degree in social work from UW Milwaukee. He was diagnosed with dyslexia as a freshman and with the help of Project Success earned a bachelor's degree. He did all of this while battling cystic fibrosis, beating the odds to live until age 43 due to a grueling diet and exercise. He documented his health for researchers so he could help others suffering from CF.
He has worked with middle and high school students with special needs, often weaving his own life stories into his lessons. His dedication drove him to his students' homes on evenings, weekends, and during the summer at no cost to help. Garsse was an ambassador for UW Oshkosh, recommending students to the Project Success program.
