John Gilbert, 1978
Master's degree in business administration, Gilbert is president and chief operation officer at Aid Association for Lutherans. . He spent his early career in insurance products and financial planning areas and was appointed vice president and general manager of AAL's northcentral region in 1990. He assumed the position of senior vice president of Member Insurance Services in 1992 and the executive vice president in 1995.
Norbert Hill, 1971
Sociology and anthropology majors and a master's degree in guidance and counseling, Hill is the executive director of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) in Boulder, Colo. He is the member of the Oneida Nation and has received numerous accolades including Reginald H. Jones Distinguished Service Award and the UW Oshkosh Chancellor's Medallion. He received an honorary doctorate from Cumberland College in Kentucky in 1994, is the chairman of the board of the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian and is publisher of Winds of Change.

International studies and political science majors, Spanish and history minors, Hansen is currently the president of Taipei-based Hansen International Co., Ltd., specializing in international law and multi-national business development. She received her law degree at the University of Michigan, was an attorney for S.C. Johnson and served senior counsel at Schering-Plough Corporation. She later established Hansen International Company Limited and the Earthplace Foundation.
Nader Darehshori, 1966
Economics major, Darehshori is chairman, chief executive officer and president of Houghton Mifflin Co. of Boston. He was formerly an elementary school teacher in his native Iran and held several sales management positions before being named vice president in 1984. He became chairman and CEO in 1990 and president in 1991, is the director of the executive committee of the State Street Bank and Trust Co., State Street Boston Corp. and the Boston Public Library Foundation.
Gerald Whitburn, 1966
Political science and history majors, Whitburn is the chairman, president and first-ever CEO for Church Mutual Insurance Company. He joined Church Mutual in 1996 as vice president and was named president and chief operating officer in January 2000. He became chairman of the company in 2005, and prior to Church Mutual, he had an extensive career in state and federal government.
