Registration & Advising FAQs
How
do I know when I can register?
Your registration date & time is located at the top of your STAR
immediately below your name, or on TitanWeb.
The date & time on your STAR is NOT your appointment date with your
academic advisor. It is when TitanWeb will let you register for next
semester. More information about registration can be found on the Registration
office website.
Who is my academic advisor?
You can look up your academic advisor on TitanWeb
or look on your STAR (listed below your registration date & time).
You can look up the location of your advisor's office in the campus
directory.
What is my STAR?
Your STAR is your STudent Academic Record. It is a very important academic
record that you can access ANYTIME you want online in TitanWeb.
When do
I need my STAR?
You need your STAR everytime you make an academic decision,
so bring it with you whenever you go see your academic advisor. We
can't advise you without it!
How do I get an appointment with my academic advisor?
If your advisor is in 130 Dempsey Hall
(the Undergraduate Advising Resource Center), you can stop by the
office, or you can call 424-3299 or 424-1268. If you leave a message,
please speak slowly and leave your name, ID# and a phone number that
has voicemail/answering machine.
If you have a faculty advisor, contact him or her stopping by his or
her office, via email or office phone. Each faculty member has
their own office and phone number, so you will have to find
this information in the campus
directory.
How can
I make sure I get the best class choices?
Meet with your academic advisor.
Plan your schedule BEFORE your registration date & time
by checking TitanWeb to determine
what class sections are available to you at the time you register.
Check
prerequisites on TitanWeb, in
the University
Bulletin and with your advisor.
Register
on or as soon as possible after your assigned registration date
& time.
