1. Start Here, Start Now - FVTC, Appleton Campus – May 8
Do you know someone who might be interested in returning to school? Start Here, Start Now is an information session to help adults explore the opportunity of attending college. Participants will hear from faculty, explore areas of study, learn about admissions and financial processes, discover important career services and meet other nontraditional students. There is no fee to attend this event. You may register by calling the ASNR Office at (920) 424-1401.

2. Lunch Bunch with Your Professor – May 14
Lunch Bunch will meet on Wednesday, May 14. You are welcome to invite one of your professors to join us for lunch. We will be in Reeve Union on the first floor near the fireplace. Lunch Bunch meets from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. on a come and go as you need to basis. The theme for May is May Day All the Way! What is your favorite flower and why? May, June & July birthdays will be celebrated.
Watch for the Lunch Bunch signs! If you have any questions, please contact Paula Verrett at 424-3350. Bring or buy your lunch and stay for the conversation. Meet other nontraditional students and enjoy a relaxing break.
3. NTSO & Women's Center Study Nights - May 12 - 15
NTSO(Nontraditional Student Organization) is sponsoring Finals Study Night at the Women's Center on May 15 from 6:00 p.m. - Midnight. Light refreshments will be available!
If you are looking for a quiet place to study, check out Study Nights at the Women's Center during finals week, May 12 - 16. You will find a quiet comfortable place to study with access to computers and a printer. Study Nights are open to all students. The Women’s Center is located in the Campus Center for Equity and Diversity (formerly the Foundation Center), at the corner of Irving and Elmwood. Access is off of Irving, down the driveway at the east end of the building.

4. Commencement – May 17
Congratulations to the those of you who are graduating this spring! Spring graduation will be Saturday, May 17, in Kolf Sports Center. The 9:00 a.m. Commencement ceremony will be graduates (including both undergraduate and graduate) from the College of Letters and Science and the Center for New Learning. The 2:00 p.m. Commencement ceremony will be graduates (including both undergraduate and graduate) from the College of Business, College of Nursing and the College of Education and Human Services.

5. Spring Interim- May 19 – June 6
Spring interim begins on Monday, May 19. Classes will run through Friday, June 6. There will be no classes on Monday, May 26, due to the observance of Memorial Day.
Reminder the library may have different hours during the Interim and Summer. Please check their website for their current hours.
Also, please note that as of the publication of this newsletter, D2L is scheduled to be down for an upgrade from 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22 until 7:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 27. It is possible that D2L may be down longer. If you are taking an interim class, be aware of this scheduled upgrade to D2L and remind your professors as well!
6. Book Buyback – May 8 - 20
Put some money back in your pocket. Sell your textbooks back to the bookstore during the spring buyback held May 8 - 10, 12 - 17, 19 – 20 . Getting cash for books is easy. Buyback is held at the windows in the hallway at Reeve Memorial Union, near the Algoma Blvd. entrance. Present your books at the window (please remove any notes or personal belongings) and if your book is accepted for buyback, receive money for your book immediately.

7. Titan Dollars - Use Them or Lose Them by June 6
If you have a balance of Titan dollars on your Titan card, you need to spend them or transfer them by June 6, 2008 or you will lose them! Locations that accept Titan dollars are:

If you prefer, purchase a Reeve Gift Card at Titan Central or transfer to Vending Dollars. Reeve Gift Cards are available in any amount over $5.00 and are valid for 18 months from the date of purchase. Vending Dollars cannot exceed a balance of $20. 8. Summer Session begins June 16
Summer session is rapidly approaching. For the best selection of courses, register now! Students may register for open classes up to the start of classes. Summer session begins Monday, June 16 and runs through Friday, August 8. No classes will be held on Friday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
9. Using Computers - Summer Second Session
Would you like to learn more about Microsoft Office 2007? Computer Science 115 (CS115) is for you! This course will introduce students to computers and their use. The course includes a lab that emphasizes productivity tools such as: word processing, spread sheets, presentation, and databases, utilizing Office 2007 and internet application programs. It will also cover how to use the online course technology through D2L (Desire to Learn).
This 3 credit class will be a hybrid course offered during the Summer Session second four weeks. For more information, sign up through Titan Web or contact instructor Kathy Lynch at lynch@uwosh.edu.
10. ANSR Office Assistance
The Adult Nontraditional Student Resource office (ANSR) is a support service for adult nontraditional students. We are here to help you get started, find someone to talk with and answer your questions, find resources, discover other adult students who have the same needs as you and use your experience to help other nontraditional students.
The ANSR Office is located in Dempsey Hall, Room 323. We are open year round and offer extended hours to help meet your needs. Our office hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Other hours are by arrangement.
