Graduation Project

Sometimes UW Oshkosh students don’t complete their degrees on schedule. Situations arise that can interrupt plans to finish, yet years later students may rekindle the desire to come back. The Graduation Project at UW Oshkosh actively seeks out these former students and helps them to reach their goal of degree completion.

  • The Graduation Project builds on the University’s existing advising services through a special initiative to identify and assist re-enrollment students who “stopped out” before completing their program of studies.
  • Approximately 182 former students, living in 11 states, have responded to the invitation to return and complete their degrees. Since 2004, many have graduated and more are actively working on exploring their options for degree completion. Others have touched base with the university and are hoping to return to class as their lives permit.
  • Staff listen to students’ concerns and limitations, develop a graduation plan, assist them to find classes and provide encouragement to help them finish their degrees.
  • Responses have been positive! The Graduation Project invitation has reminded former students that a strong support system is available and that they will receive help along the way.

Elevator Upgrade!

Beginning May 19, Facilities Management will begin replacing the elevators in several campus buildings.  This project means that newer, more efficient elevators will be available for our campus, and we are looking forward to that result. In the meantime, however, there will be extended periods where elevators will not be available in some buildings. It is anticipated that this upgrade will take 6-8 weeks to complete. The following is a list of the buildings affected by the upgrade and the start date in each building.

Arts & Communication Building – May 19
Dempsey Hall - May 19
Clow Faculty – June 2
Clow Classroom - September 1
Nursing Ed – April 1
Nursing Ed 2 – September 18

If you are planning a visit to the ANSR Office and using the stairs would present a problem for you, please let us know.  We would be happy to meet with you on the first floor of Dempsey. You may stop in the Center for New Learning (CNL) in Dempsey, Room 111, and we will meet you there. If you are a current student and have an ADA compliance request restricting the use of stairs on file with the Dean of Students Office, they will do all they can to make certain you can still attend classes during this timeframe. If need ADA assistance during the elevator upgrade, please call: John Palmer, Assistant Dean of Students, 424-3100.
