Sentry’s purpose in sponsoring the scholarships is to provide quality educational opportunities for the best and brightest students. We want to help develop individuals with vision, creativity and dedication to all sectors of society. Sentry believes that by supporting the education of gifted young people, we are investing in America’s future.

Award

• Amount: $2,000

• Two scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded

• Each is renewable up to four years provided that the recipient maintains a 3.3 GPA (4.0 scale) and a one of the approved majors stated below.

Requirements

• Must be an entering freshman

• Must rank in the top 15% of graduating class

• Must have submitted ACT scores

• Must have had significant leadership experience and demonstrate outstanding leadership potential

• Must major in business, mathematics (applied/actuarial emphasis), or computer science

• Must be admitted to UW Oshkosh

• Attach a letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor

• Attach an essay (two typed, double spaced pages) on one of the following topics:

• How do I know I am a leader?

• Leadership in a changing world

• A leader or role model for me

Selection Process

• Recipients will be selected by a UW Oshkosh scholarship committee.

• Sentry Insurance will be informed of the recipients.
