Requirements

• Must be an entering freshman at UW Oshkosh for the fall session

• Must rank in the upper 25% of the high school class

• Must have had three years of mathematics to include two years of algebra and one year of geometry

• Must have had three years of high school science form the areas of geology, earth science, biology, chemistry and physics

• Must take 51-102, Physical Geology (or 51-110, honors Geology) and 51-109, Evolution of the Earth during the freshman year

• Must be a full-time student the freshman year

• Must be admitted to UW Oshkosh by the application deadline

• Must submit two letters of recommendation from science teachers

• Must submit the ATC (American College Test) scores by the application deadline

• Must submit a 300-500 word essay discussing your interest in geology or earth science and your career goals

Selection Process

• The applications will be reviewed and the recipient selected by the scholarship committee of the Department of Geology

• Selection will be based on the high school transcript, ACT scores, essay and the letters of recommendation

• Applicant will be notified by April 15
