Erwin G. Ackerman Scholarship

Competition open only to new freshman Oshkosh residents interested in engineering.

Award

  • Amount: varies

  • Number of awards: varies

  • Financial need is not a consideration

  • Awards are renewed automatically for a total of four semesters, provided that funds are available and the recipients complete at least 12 credits each semester with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 and continue to pursue a pre-engineering curriculum.

 

Application

 

Requirements

  • Reside in the City of Oshkosh, Wisconsin

  • Declare and pursue an engineering pre-professional curriculum

  • Be an entering freshman at UW Oshkosh for the fall session

  • Have a strong academic record, particularly in math and science

  • Submit a 300-500 word essay discussing your interest in engineering and career goals

  • Three letters of recommendations: One each from a math teachers, a science teachers, and a teacher in another subject area

  • Submit ATC (American College Test) scores by the application deadline

  • Be admitted to UW Oshkosh by the application deadline

  • Submit an Erwin G. Ackerman Scholarship application

  • All materials must be received or postmarked by the application deadline

  • Other evidence indicative of interest in and qualifications for a successful engineering career may be submitted
