UW Oshkosh Admissions Guidelines/Freshman Profile
UW Oshkosh uses a comprehensive review process in considering each individual applicant for admission. We look at the whole student, weighing both academic and non-academic factors in our decision-making process.
Applying to UW Oshkosh
High school seniors can begin to apply for UW Oshkosh via the UW System online application as soon as September 1. Students are encouraged to apply early. UW Oshkosh begins the review of new freshman applications on September 15 for admission to the University the following fall.
Counselors who are working with students who have limited internet access may download a UW System paper application or have the student contact the UW Oshkosh Admissions Office by phone at (920) 424-3164 to request a paper application.

UW Oshkosh offers a number of general Preview Days as well as special programs geared to academic majors and program areas. Students may register online.
UW Oshkosh Campus Tours/Admissions Counselor Appointments
For most students, the decisive factor in choosing a college or university is the campus visit. UW Oshkosh offers personalized appointments with admissions counselors and daily campus tours for prospective students. Students may register online for personal appointments and tours.

Students who plan to attend college immediately following graduation ideally should begin their college-decision making process by their junior year in high school. College-bound students can streamline their college selection process by attending one of the Wisconsin Education Fairs . The KnowHow2GO website is another helpful resource that lays out the steps that need to be taken to be eligible for acceptance to a college or university.
UW HELP Online
Students planning on attending one of the UW System campuses are encouraged to use the resources provided by the UW HELP Online website, including “Major Mania.” For counselors, the UW Help Counselor page covers a broad range of helpful topics from ACT scores to information about the annual UW System counselor workshops.
