Power Management in Windows

Explains how to adjust power settings on a Windows computer

Sometimes user's monitor will turn off after a period of inactivity and the user wants to prevent this from happening. The user needs to adjust their Power Management settings.

To adjust Power Management Settings:

  1. Go to the Start Menu, then Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Power Options icon.
  3. Under the section titled Settings for Home/Office Desk - Power Scheme select a higher value or Never for Turn off monitor and Turn off Hard Disk.
  4. Click OK.
