Borrowing and Returning AutoDesk Network Licenses
Instructions on how to get and return AutoDesk Licenses
It is assumed that you already have AutoDesk installed on your computer with a network license. It is also assumed that you are connected to the campus network via ethernet cable.
Borrowing A License
- Open an AutoDesk Product.
- Note:You need to only borrowing one AutoDesk license for all products installed in that suite year (such as Master Suite 2011, 2012, etc.
- In the upper right, click the down arrow next to the "?" and click "About".

- Click the "Product Information" button in the upper right corner.
- Select "Borrow License…".
- Set the expiration date (maximum: 6 months), and click "Borrow License".
- If the license borrowed successfully, you will receive a message similar to the one below:
- Note: When launching any AutoDesk application, you will receive the message below indicating you are using a borrowed license and the expiration date. Once the application is open, you will receive a reminder bubble (below). These are normal messages.
Returning a License
Method 1:
- In the reminder bubble, click the ‘click here’ link.
- Click ‘Yes’ to return the license.
Method 2:
- In the upper right, click the down arrow next to the "?" and click "About".
- Press the "Product Information" button in the upper right corner.
- Select "Return License…".
- If the license was returned successfully, you will receive the message below:
