Setting Up Titan Mail or Alumni Email on your Smart Phone or iOS device.

If you are trying to configure your Android, iPhone / iPad / iOS, or Blackberry to work with the UW Oshkosh Titan Mail or Alumni Email, you will need to know the procedures to setup your mobile device. These instructions provide you with the correct settings.

 

 

Android with Titan Mail or Alumni Email - First Setup

Android with Titan Mail or Alumni Email - First Setup

 

Note:  It is recommended that you remove any UWO account you previously attempted to setup and use the following instructions.

If the Email icon with a @ symbol is not visible on the Home Screen:

             1.    Press and hold on an empty area of the Home Screen.

             2.    Android-Titan Mail-01     Press on the 'Shortcuts' icon.

 

             3.    Android-Titan Mail-02     Press the 'Applications' icon.

  

             4.    Android-Titan Mail-03     Press the 'Email' icon.

Press the 'Email' icon.

 

 

 

If any email accounts are already setup, press the following buttons at the bottom of the screen::

    1. The 'Menu' button.
    2. The 'Accounts' button.
    3. The 'Menu' button.
    4. The 'Add Account' button.

Press the 'Others' icon.

Enter your email address in the ‘Email address’ field (the example showsaccount@example.com, use either 'TitanMailUserName@uwosh.edu' or 'AlumniEmailUserName@alumni.uwosh.edu').

Enter the email password in the ‘Password’ field.

Press the 'Next' button.

 

 

 

Android-Titan Mail-07

Your email account will automatically be created and configured for Titan Mail, additional information is requested for Alumni Email:

                          • For Incoming Server, leave settings as is except Security Type should be ‘TLS’.
                          • For Outgoing Server, leave settings as is except Security Type should be ‘TLS’.
                          • Select time interval for when email should be checked.
                          • Enter a name for this email account on your mobile device.

Android with Titan Mail or Alumni Email - Additional Setup Information

Incoming Mail Server (Receiving)

When asked about:

      • Username:  enter your Titan Mail Username (without '@uwosh.edu') or Alumni Email Username (without '@alumni.uwosh.edu')
      • Password:  enter your Titan Mail Password or Alumni Email Password
      • IMAP or Mail Server:  enter 'mail.uwosh.edu' for Titan Mail or 'alumni.uwosh.edu' for Alumni Email
      • Port:  enter '993' for Titan Mail or '143' for Alumni Email
      • Security Type:  select SSL for Titan Mail or TLS for Alumni Email  (if connection, sending, or receiving issues occur, try the other setting)

Outgoing Mail Server (Sending)

When asked about:

      • SMTP Server:  enter 'smtp.uwosh.edu' for Titan Mail or 'alumni.uwosh.edu' for Alumni Email
      • Port:  enter '587'
      • Security Type:  enter TLS (if connection, sending, or receiving issues occur, try SSL)
      • Require Sign-in:  check the box (may be referred to as Login).
      • Username:  enter your Titan Mail Username (without '@uwosh.edu') or Alumni Email Username (without '@alumni.uwosh.edu')
      • Password:  enter your Titan Mail Password or Alumni Email Password

Android with Titan Mail, Calendar, and Address Book (Employee only, Notify Account Required)

 

Note:  You must have an account on the Notify server to use this procedure.

Note:  If you are setting up a new device, uninstall Touchdown from Applications on the old device and follow these instructions.

Note:  If you successfully completed setting up your device and there was a Help Desk ticket created, contact Help Desk to have the ticket closed.

Press the ‘Applications’ icon on the android’s desktop.

Press the ‘Playstore’ or ‘Android Market’ icon.

Press the ‘Accept’ button if shown.

 Press the magnifying glass icon.

 

 

 

 

Enter ‘touchdown’ in the search box and press the magnifying glass icon.

Press on ‘TouchDown for Smartphones’ in ‘APPS’ area

Press the ‘Install’ button.

Press the ‘Accept & download’ button.

 

 

 

The application will then download and install.

Press the ‘Open’ button.

Press the ‘Configure your Account’ button.

Enter your email address in the ‘Email Address’ field (‘parksm@uwosh.edu’ as example).

Enter the Notify Password in the ‘Password’ field as provided by the Notify Administrator.

Press the ‘Next’ button.

Enter your email address in the ‘User ID’ field (‘parksm@uwosh.edu’ as example).

Nothing is entered in the 'Domain' field.

The ‘Email Address’ and ‘Password’ fields should auto populate.

Enter ‘mobilemail2.uwosh.edu’ in the 'Server’ field.

Press the ‘Next’ button.

Make sure that the ‘Use secure connections (SSL)’ box is checked.

Make sure that 'Autodetect' is selected for 'Server certificate verification'.

Press the ‘Next’ button.

Uncheck boxes so that only the ‘ActiveSync’ box is checked

Press the ‘Next’ button.

 

 

 

 

Press the ‘Next’ button to start the configuration process.

A progress bar will show as the configuration occurs.

Once completed, 'Success' will display.

Synchronizing will begin and 'License is valid' will display at the bottom of the screen when completed.

If synchronizing isn’t shown, press the ‘Menu’ button followed by the ‘Sync’ icon.

Move the ‘TouchDown’ icon to where desired or find it in the ‘Applications’ area.

      • Password:  enter your Titan Mail Password or Alumni Email Password
