Prevent PDF Files from Opening in a Web Browser
How to change your settings so PDF files do not show up in web browsers.
To Prevent PDF’s from opening in a Web Browser follow these steps:
- Launch Adobe Reader 8.0.
- Open the Edit menu and select Preferences.
- On the left hand side of the preferences window, select the Internet category.
- Make sure to uncheck the "Display PDF in browser" option.
After following these steps, PDF files should no longer open within the browser. A window of Adobe Reader will come up with your PDF.
