D2L Unavailable January 15th - 16th UPDATED AGAIN

Changed from January 8th at 10:00 PM through January 9th at 10:00 AM to January 15th at 10:00 PM through January 16th at 10:00 AM. Newest Update: extended to 11 AM

Most recent Post

Due to the complex nature of the D2L upgrade, the process has taken longer than expected.  Unfortunately we will need to delay the restoration of service until 11:00 AM Thursday. Please know that our team is working as quickly as possible to return D2L to active status.

When service is restored, work on the database will continue throughout the day, this may result is some slight performance anomalies.

Thank you for your continued patience.

New Posting:

I just received notification from UW System that our Upgrade to D2L 10.1 that was scheduled for Wednesday evening into Thursday morning of this week is being postponed by one week.  The new outage times will be Wednesday January 15th from 10:00 PM to Thursday January 16th at 10:00 AM.

This decision is due to an unresolved and intermittent issue involving slow load times on the main D2L account page.  Desire2Learn is vigorously pursuing a root cause investigation and expects to identify a resolution for this issue, but a thoroughly tested solution is not expected to be available before tomorrows originally scheduled upgrade.

We want to ensure that the system functions in a way that our faculty, staff and students need it to work, therefore we believe the postponement is the correct action to take at this time.

Once again, we apologize for the Inconvenience this has caused.  I know this is especially difficult during the interim session.   Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

D2L will be down for maintenance January 8th at 10:00 PM through January 9th at 10:00 AM.  During this time D2L will be upgraded to a new version.

The new version includes significant changes to the Content tool.  Your course materials will not be affected however, the navigation of the tool is quite different.  If you have not already done so, please review the information provided in our Written Features Guide or the Video Features Guide.

Thank you.
