Recommendation to go to the Provost for review/decision:

·          A Campus Definition of Academic Advising: Advising is a dynamic relationship between a student and advisor. At the center is a shared responsibility for a coherent education plan that incorporates personal, social, academic and career considerations. Advising focuses on helping student identify life goals, acquire skills and attitudes that promote intellectual growth, and become academically successful.

A motion to recommend this definition of academic advising was made (Godfrey) and seconded (Olson); 9 in favor, 0 opposed, 1 abstention;  Motion carried.
