Dana Vaughan

Time table is in an Excel data base but it is not updated like it is on Titan Web

Departments may contact Marilyn Anderson for instructions on filtering to only get the areas they want

Questions to Council:

“Where do we think our complaint stands in reference to Titan Web/People Soft and are we satisfied?”

The Excel spreadsheet of the timetable is a good response to the concerns raised by the council. This spreadsheet coupled with the on line “how to” documentation and additional in service training for PA’s and Faculty/Staff interested in using Excel tools (filters) should be useful in the advising process.  Some of our students may also find access to the information helpful and we suggest the spreadsheet be made available to the students too.

Dana will do a draft and forward to council for response then on to John Berens and Dr Miller

Total Intake Model: Discussion continued

Accomplished so far: Definition for Advising; Time Table

Discussion:  Tom Fojtik: well rounded; Robert Urofsky: very little in pact in his department but has no objections. Continued concern that students be referred to faculty upon declaring the major, regardless of degree progress.

It has been decided to postpone endorsement until December  meeting for the Total Intake Model until additional members are present at meeting

Benefits of endorsing the Total Intake Model:

Goes on record and allows other offices and the UARC to process and make changes and define roles of students, faculty advisor & professional advisor.

Students can still use both academic advisor and faculty advisor if they choose to.

Concern of endorsing Total Intake Model:

Student would not be able to see faculty advisor until certain criteria are met and lose time for proper class. This is resolved by directing as soon as they declare major. placement – that is not true as students can see their faculty advisor as well as academic advisor

New business for next meeting

Invite any additional concerns for voting on Total Intake Model
