Services offered by the Center for Academic Support and Diversity include, but are not limited to:
Advising Intensive, ongoing advising for students in designing and understanding the implications of course selection, registration, and interpreting university policies and requirements for graduation.
Tutoring One-on-one math and writing tutoring,
plus individual tutoring available for
Student Support Services participants.
Personal Support Assistance with adjusting to the new demands of academic, personal and social aspects of college.
Peer Mentoring Program Upperclass student mentors paired with incoming students - use their hindsight!
Early Warning Intervention Program Academic monitoring system -- giving students feedback.
Short-Term Loan Thirty day loan of up to $100.
Publications Diversity Magazine, Strive Newsletter,
"Our Kitchen" Cookbook
Resume Writing Assistance Resume development and writing assistance.
Opportunities Corner A computer with Internet access for resume writing and exploration of jobs, internships and grants/scholarships, located in Dempsey Hall, room 146.
Internships/Job Placement Assistance with internship and job placement.
Referrals Directing students to appropriate University departments and services for additional help and assistance when necessary.

 

Programs and events are open to the community, as well as all UW Oshkosh students, faculty and staff:
Calendar of Events Enriching and educational programming.
Heritage Months Local celebrations of national heritage months.
First-Year Forums Programs specifically for first-year and transfer students.
Sophomore Forums Continuing support programs specifically for students who survived the first year but still think graduation is a long way off.
Junior/Senior Forums Programs focusing on further enhancing academic progress of students, as well as establishing foundations for professional career opportunities.
Open House & Early Check-In Opportunity to meet staff and learn about services and programs during early check-in for first-years students.
Holidays-Around-the-World Annual December multicultural holiday celebration.
Cinco de Mayo "The Fifth of May" Celebration.
National TRIO Day Honoring over 35 years of service to disadvantaged students.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Citywide Celebration "A day on, not a day off."
