Work study positions are based on financial need. You must
have applied and received federal financial aid to be eligible.
Once accepted, you can take part or all of your financial award
in the form of work study, rather than loans. For example, if
you choose to take $1000 of your financial aid in work study,
you can work in any work study position and earn up to $1000
for that academic year. This eliminates the need for some loans
and saves you interest payments in the future. In order to take
advantage of this, call the Financial Aid office at 424-3377.
These positions are very common on campus (there are also some
positions in the community), and positions are easy to find
if you look. The Division employs 5-10 work study students each
semester. Stop in Dempsey 146 or 131 and ask for a Student Employee
Application Form.
