About IMA

Why join IMA?

By becoming a member of IMA, you will experience many great opportunities.  You will be able to meet many professionals and begin to network for future jobs or internships.  You will create valuable relationships with established professional IMA members through the IMA Mentoring Program. You will also have increase career awareness.

You will become a part of awarding winning organization.  The Winnebagoland Chapter of the IMA received 6th place finishers our of over 300 chapters nationwide for their outstanding achievements during the 1998-1999 year.

As a member, you will become involved in the mentorship program.  You will be paired with a professional from the area.  This would be a good opportunity to learn more about the profession and meet people from many different companies.

You will receive a student publication at least three times a year, the IMA will publish imastudents.org, a companion publications to its internationally recognized monthly magazine, Strategic Finance.  Directed to students, imastudents.org provides information about employment in financial management and management accounting, education requirements, current salaries, preparing for the CMA and Certified in Financial Management (CFM) examination programs, benefits of student membership the IMA, academic mentors, and other information designed to prepare students for post-graduation activity.

 

National Student Web Site

The IMA had created a student Web site, called imastudents.org, which also can be reached from the IMA homepage at imanet.org. The site contains a message from IMA's president, access to IMA's jobs bank, salary information, membership information and application forms, technology information, and information about student chapters and various competitions.
